MCS Group is proud to be exclusively partnering with Irish News to recruit an IT Support Technician as they embark on their next phase of digital growth.

The Role

  • Assisting the CTO with day-to-day support and maintenance of IT systems and applications across all organisations within the Group
  • Monitor and assess current infrastructure, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
  • Supporting the wider Irish News team with any IT needs as required
  • Monitor security policies and data protection strategies, ensuring they remain up-to-date
  • Assist with installation and training for new hardware and software applications
  • Be available for any on-site support (outside of core working hours as required)
  • Occasional travel will be required to other sites within the group
  • Any other duties as outlined in the full job description

The Person

  • 3+ years of experience in an IT Support Technician role or similar
  • Strong knowledge of MS Windows (desktop and server) and Apple Macintosh OS deployment and networking
  • Experience with setting up network switches, routing, VLANs and VPNs
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and attend the office on-site 5 days per week
  • Able to work outside of core working hours on an on-call basis
  • Ideally you will have a Third Level qualification in Computing or similar, i.e. Degree or HND
