In-House Lawyer - Commercial Contracts

MCS Group are excited to be working closely with our client, a leading global law firm, to recruit an In-House Lawyer with a specialism in Commercial Contracts.

The Role
The role will entail:

• Develop and implement strategies, policies, procedures, and standards for engagement terms across the firm.
• Maintain a comprehensive set of standard form templates for engagement terms to be used firm-wide.
• Review and negotiate engagement terms with internal and external parties, including clients, to ensure alignment with the firm's policies and professional conduct standards.
• Identify and analyse potential risks and opportunities associated with engagement terms, including operational, legal, regulatory, reputational, and strategic risks, and develop and execute risk mitigation and contingency plans.
• Report and communicate the status, progress, and outcomes of engagement terms, providing insights and recommendations for improvement, optimization, and innovation, including updates to the firm's governance bodies such as the Risk Committee.

The Candidate

• Qualified Lawyer with strong contract negotiation and review skills
• The ability to provide pragmatic, directive and business-orientated advice on compliance with contractual obligations
• Excellent track record of systemising processes, ideally within a risk management environment
• Experience of dealing with and advising a wide range of business stakeholders in determining requirements and priorities, as well as resolving issues
