Job Description
The Role
- Ensure all project expenditures are eligible, accurate, and align with the project.
- Complete and submit verification forms, identifying non-compliance and reporting irregularities to management for recovery.
- Verify that projects follow grant applications, contracts, and conditions outlined in the Letter of Offer.
- Customize verification processes based on project size and nature to detect and resolve irregularities.
- Report non-compliance and financial issues to the Governance Officer, offering recommendations for improvements.
- Assist in reviewing and evaluating funding schemes, policies, and procedures, while managing workload.
- Ensure safe storage of financial records.
- Support the work of internal and external auditors during funding verification processes.
The Person
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
By the closing date for applications candidates must have:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grade C or above), including Maths and English.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience carrying out verification or audit of expenditure.
OR
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in financial accounting.
OR
- A minimum of 2 years' experience conducting payroll processing.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience reviewing financial processes and / or controls.
- Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders to achieve a positive outcome.
- Experience of working with MS Office packages, in particular MS Excel
