Event Manager (6 month FTC)

MCS Group is delighted to be working alongside a leading Belfast-based Media group to recruit an Event Manager/ Broadcast Manager on a 6-month FTC to join their ambitious Marketing team.

The Outside Broadcast Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of live radio broadcasts conducted outside the studio.

This role ensures seamless set-up from remote locations, including events, concerts, sports games, interviews, and community gatherings. The ideal candidate has strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage promotions and technical teams and equipment under tight deadlines and in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the programming, engineering, and marketing teams to identify broadcast requirements for each event
• Coordinate with external event organisers, sponsors, and other stakeholders to secure permissions, access, and logistical support
• Conduct site surveys to determine the necessary technical setup, power requirements, and location-specific constraints
• Oversee the set-up, testing, and calibration of broadcast equipment, including audio consoles, microphones, headsets, transmitters, and communication systems
• Conduct risk assessments for each location, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Lead and manage the outside broadcast promotions team, including sound engineers, technical assistants, and on-air talent
• Train team members in the operation of equipment, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate scheduling and staffing to ensure proper coverage for all outside broadcasts
• Prepare and manage the budget for each outside broadcast
• Conduct debriefs with the broadcast team to evaluate the event, noting successes and areas for improvement

Essential Criteria:

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
• Proven Experience in radio broadcasting and/or outside or live events
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder collaboration
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously
