I am on the lookout for an experienced Engineering Manager team to join my client in Dungannon.
Engineering Manager
As the engineering manager, you will work alongside the CEO and be dedicated to contributing to the company's success and maintaining its "Leading manufacturing reputation".
Main Responsibilities:
- Guiding and managing an efficient team of engineers.
- Establish technical direction across the organisation to efficiently deliver the highest quality product.
- Implement best practice procedures and roll through necessary instruction to engineering team leads and operatives.
- Ensure Projects, ECCs, and NPDs are communicated to production in a timely and defective manner.
- Develop and lead strategic engineering initiatives in conjunction with the senior management team to assist in the fulfilment of company objectives.
- Work closely with the production and operations team to develop a total preventative maintenance strategy where possible.
- Drive continuous improvement techniques to improve product performance, compliance, efficiency, and potential portfolio of product applications.
- Identify training and development strategies.
- Analyse existing practices and systems, as well as ways to develop them.
- Preparation of design packs for production using 3D SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Specification of parts and confirmation of suppliers.
- Drive cost reduction.
- NPD and NPI including sample design
- Systems maintenance of Design packs using AQP and ECO systems
Essential Requirements:
- Educated to 3rd level in manufacturing/mechanical or quality engineering qualification
- 5 Years experience working as an engineering manager and control in an engineering manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of special processes
- Experience using value-added quality principles and facilitating improvement throughout the quality assurance process, by utilising practical problem-solving techniques such as 5Y, 8D, cause, and effective analysis
- Knowledge of QC tools
- Ability to demonstrate commercial astuteness with a strong focus on managing the COQ and reducing the COPQ
- Previous experience working in line with ISO 9001 or a strong knowledge of the principles of ISO standards
- Experience in driving the NC process with the ability to use the NC process, root cause analysis, and quality SOPs to reduce the COPQ
- Understanding of kaizen and lean manufacturing tools and techniques
