Database Engineering Manager

MCS Group is working with one of their closest clients, a global technology company whose technology is used by thousands of users day-to-day in their search for an Engineering Manager with experience of leading DBAs and Database Administrators. The Manager will join a small, but growing and globally dispersed team of Database Administrators across Ireland, the United States and APAC regions, availing of support from an experienced Director of Engineering who has been with the organisation for over 20 years. The Engineering Manager will focus their time on developing and mentoring their team, creating & delivering strategic initiatives and driving better performance and resilience of databases throughout the organisation.

This is the perfect opportunity for a seasoned technologist looking to hone their leadership skills in an organisation which invests in their people. You'll play a key role in making efficiencies and doing things better, all while having the flexibility to work from home anywhere in Ireland.

The Role

The Engineering Manager will take leadership for 4-5 experienced Database Admins.

You'll play a key role in database performance and resilience (think things like better release cycles, better change management).

You'll work closely with development & architecture teams to understand how to work better in harmony.

You'll play a key part in the company's journey to a multi-cloud native environment.

The Person

You'll have strong leadership and people management experience.

You'll have a technical background in Database Administration and have a strong understanding of the SDLC and working with/in software engineering teams.

You'll have exposure to SQL and Oracle databases along with exposure to cloud technologies.

You'll be passionate about people and have a track record of managing, supporting and leading teams .

Salary

€100k+ depending on experience with a package which includes working from home within Ireland.
