Commercial Motor Underwriter

MCS is partnering with a well-established insurance agency in Belfast experiencing significant growth and are now hiring a Commercial Motor Underwriter to join their team in Belfast. This role would suit a sociable underwriter with a few years' experience, who is used to fostering and is keen to maintain a good working relationship with brokers.

This is a brand new, full-time permanent job opportunity based in the firm's central Belfast office - with a working structure of 3-days in-office and 2 days WFH each week.

Your Package

• Package of £30,000-£40,000
• Hybrid working structure
• Matched pension
• 25 days holidays + stats

What your day would look like

• Writing within level of authority and referring anything outside authority level to the Underwriting Manager
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and stakeholders
• Negotiating rates and terms & conditions for new business and renewals
• Managing production and issuing of contract certainty documentation
• Adherence to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice in effort to minimise risk
• Helping to maximise renewal retention and new business in lines with business targets

Your skills

• 2+ years' experience in a Commercial Motor / Fleet underwriting role
• Demonstrable insurance industry knowledge
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent customer service skills.
• A self-motivated individual with strong communication and negotiation skills.
