Job Description
MCS Group is excited to recruit for a Business Unit Manager (Composites) on behalf of a well-established, highly successful manufacturing client based in Ballymena. This business is at the forefront of ground-breaking technological advances, offering best-in-class solutions and products to the market.
As the Business Unit Manager, you will be instrumental in driving the sustainability, growth, and operational excellence of the composites business unit. You will work closely with senior management, providing leadership and oversight to ensure operational success, while delivering on key performance areas including safety, quality, cost control, and efficiency improvements.
The Business Unit Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the Composites division working closely with the senior management team to ensure the ongoing sustainability, growth, and success of the business. To achieve this, you will drive and deliver tangible benefits to the business through robust business improvement programmes, providing clear leadership and governance to all members of the team.

This role is integral to the success of the business unit, requiring strong leadership, operational management skills, and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence.
You will have:
- Minimum of 5 years of operational management experience within a manufacturing environment with proven experience in delivering operational solutions in the following areas:
- Workforce planning and efficiency improvements
- Driving tangible business improvements
- Problem-solving within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of process mapping and continuous improvement techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- Conducting skills gap analysis
- Training and developing staff
- Managing budgets and implementing cost control improvements
- Demonstrated experience managing staff in a manufacturing setting
- Strong leadership and team management abilities and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
