Job Description
Business managers provide a critical support role in the development and maintenance of this organisations Governance framework and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The Business Managers work collectively and collaboratively to ensure consistency across divisions, as well as drive efficiency and best practice.
The Role will consist of:
- Support divisional directors and heads in coordinating and managing the delivery of Corporate action plans.
- Coordinate the development of Divisional and Branch Business Plans, KPIs, and report progress to key stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and reporting of Corporate and Annual Business Plans to the Executive Management Team, Board, and other strategic groups.
- Oversee financial management, including budget, assets, capital expenditure, business cases, and project evaluations.
- Monitor chargeable time, advise on efficiency measures, and support People and Culture initiatives such as recruitment, retention, and staff engagement.
- Collaborate with the Research Support Office and project leaders on pre and post-award project governance.
- Develop strategic initiatives, risk registers, business continuity plans, and policies with divisional directors and heads.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate Governance requirements, review policy and planning initiatives, and provide timely recommendations for improvements.
The Person
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
- A Degree or equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years' experience aligned with the needs of the post as outlined above
- Demonstrable experience of Microsoft packages (or equivalent) to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Desirable:
- Public sector experience
