MCS Group is delighted to be working alongside a global law firm based in Belfast to recruit a dynamic Business Development (BD) Specialist to join the Global Experts & Markets (GEM) Team. This role is pivotal in supporting the commercial and operational goals of the GEM Team.


Global Experts & Markets (GEM) Team

The Global Experts & Markets (GEM) Team works with firms across Europe, Africa, Latin America, Asia Pacific and the Middle East to deliver clients a global service. These relationships are key to the complex advice that the lawyers provide to the clients.

The GEM Team specialist role works within the wider business development team. This team contributes to the achievement of the firm's business objectives, which includes supporting partners and associates in their pursuit of becoming the clients' trusted advisers, building and maintaining long-lasting, deep institutional client relationships, winning new clients, increasing the visibility of the firm globally, and positioning the firm as the thought leader and most advanced law firm among the global elite law firms.

Core responsibilities:

• The function works as one team across the globe with very close collaboration between the central groups - such as Communications - and professionals supporting offices, practice groups, sectors and clients.

• Event Leadership: Play a key role in the presence at the International Bar Association annual conference and help orchestrate the flagship London event that draws over 250 global attendees.
• Data Management: Maintain internal systems to keep us ahead of the curve and spot trends in data to help commercial goals.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Organise meetings with top-tier stakeholders, ensuring relationships are as strong as reputation.
• Profile Elevation: Coordinate pitches, directory submissions, and other initiatives that raise the profile and showcase expertise in these markets and specifically within the Africa Group.
• Preparation and Strategy: Equip our partners with the materials they need to build and strengthen relationships with senior stakeholders.

You will be function within a diverse and talented team that spans the globe, including a Director in Dubai, a Senior Manager in London, an Operations Manager in Frankfurt, and a fellow specialist in Belfast. Daily interactions with colleagues from over 30 offices worldwide will help you better understand the world's economies and legal markets.
