Job Description

MCS Group are delighted to be working with a long established media company based across the island of Ireland. They are the country's leading media company with a diverse portfolio of brands and a comprehensive service offering across traditional media, digital communication, advertising and marketing.

As a Business Development Executive, you will be required to work with existing clients to develop new business and proactively develop new long term business relationships with commercial value. The purpose for this role is to grow revenue base by adding new accounts and new services to existing and new client accounts whilst attaining high value business relationships.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Actively and creatively source potential advertising opportunities and engage new clients / new business by spending time in the field.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key decision makers across a network of local public sector and private businesses.
  • Responsible for securing major sales opportunities including winning new accounts and up selling Company services to existing accounts.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of our trading position including competitor titles in order to continually develop new revenue generating ideas.
  • Keep an up to date knowledge of trends across the industry including relevant digital developments.

Requirements include:

  • At least 3 years sales experience with a proven record of achieving sales to target.
  • Previous experience of developing strong business relationships and achieving commercial value / success.
  • Previous experience of using CRM systems.
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisational, presentation and communication skills.
  • Able to effectively plan and prioritise work load to achieve targets and to deadline.
