Job Description
MCS Group is proud to be working with a leading independent manufacturing company, who are looking for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join their successful team in County Antrim.
As the assistant maintenance manager, you will oversee the entire site maintenance function, while maximising plant and equipment reliability/performance. You will effectively manage and develop the maintenance team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Look after the daily management/ supervision of a team of mechanical/electrical engineers
- Train, develop, mentor, and motivate the team to achieve the department KPIs
- Minimise equipment downtime
- Participate in equipment upgrades to support operational efficiency
- Support factor growth and new equipment installation projects.
- Ensure adherence to safe working practices and departmental housekeeping standards
- Co-ordinate inspection and testing of equipment to ensure compliance with HS&E regulatory requirements
- Manage department costs
- Technical liaison with suppliers/ equipment manufacturers
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience of managing/supervising a maintenance team within a manufacturing environment
- Operationally focused with a track record of delivering results
- Proven track record of building, mentoring, and motivating a team of engineers
- Practical experience of the application of modern maintenance and manufacturing methodologies
- Problem-solving techniques/ root cause analysis as , Six Sigma
- Good working knowledge of Project Management, H&S, and Budgetary controls
- Experience in managing a diverse range of suppliers
- Previous history of delivering training and upskilling a team of engineers/ apprentices
