MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting an Assistant Accountant for our client based in Belfast on a full time, permanent basis.

Our client are leaders in their industry in NI, with city centre based offices and multiple businesses under their umbrella. This is an excellent role to find variety, daily challenges and rewarding work as you complete management accounts, transactional finance duties and assist with payroll processing. Your New Job:

• Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts including accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare Gift aid claims to HMRC.
• Manage the direct debit system and prepare the monthly prepayment journal.
• Processing and preparation of monthly payroll.
• Prepare bank reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset registers.
• Purchase & sales ledger maintenance.
• General ledger responsibilities on posting nominal journal entries.
• Support other members of the Finance Team in the analysis of information and ad hoc financial reporting.

What you need to succeed:

• Experience within a similar role
• Proficient in SAGE Line 50 Accounts or similar accounts package
• Computer literate, with excellent experience of Microsoft Office with particularly experience in Excel Spreadsheets
• Ability to use own initiative but also work well within a team
• Strong commercial experience & excellent analytical skills

Desirable:

• Qualified Accounting Technician (ATI, AAT) or Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
