Learning & Development Specialist - Multinational Manufacturing Organisation

MCS Group is pleased to be partnering with a multinational manufacturing organisation based in County Antrim, who currently require an experienced Learning & Development Specialist on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a new role for the organisation, an opportunity for the successful candidate to shape the learning & development function as the organisation continues to grow.

The role

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Learning & Development Specialist will partner with key stakeholders across the organisation, lead the organisations training Academy which is focused on developing growth programmes for their employees to ensure top talent is identified and developed appropriately, as well as developing best in class management development programmes. In conjunction with the management team the role will be heavily involved in the design and delivery of training for all staff, sourcing specialist external training when required and will have a responsibility for managing, developing, and delivering training interventions. The Learning & Development Specialist will contribute to and help formulate the vision and direction of the HR function.

On a day-to-day basis, the Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for all training matters from business wide training needs analysis, creating bespoke training for all staff. These training programmes will be creative, tailored in line with organisational values and commercial direction, providing innovative solutions to ensure all new employees receive the high-quality induction and onboarding process.

In conjunction with the Management and HR team the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a skills matrix for staff, responsible for development of staff, ensuring they have tangible career goals to work towards and leading to a highly motivated and engaged workforce. The Learning & Development Specialist will also take the lead on the organisations training Academy, pipelining strong future talent through local colleges and universities, ensuring the organisation are firmly an employer of choice in Northern Ireland.

Employee engagement is high on the company agenda, with the Learning & Development Specialist supporting on various initiatives to enhance employment engagement.

The successful candidate

To apply for this outstanding Learning & Development Specialist opportunity, it is essential you possess the following:

  • 3+ years' experience working at L&D Advisor level or above
  • Relevant 3rd Level Qualification
  • A proven track record of delivering robust training programmes
  • Experience of developing bespoke training, with the ability to identify knowledge gaps and develop training to address them
  • Experience of developing an organisations training Academy
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills
  • Competent in training delivery
  • Experience of supporting the general HR function
  • Ideally be familiar with the skills, training and development needs associated with a world class manufacturing organisation
  • A CIPD training qualification is also a desirable
