HR Assistant - Craigavon - Manufacturing - Maternity Cover

MCS Group is delighted to be assisting a large manufacturing client based in the Craigavon area wishing to appoint an HR Assistant on a 9- 12-month contract, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with a multi-faceted business that have just had one of their best years to date. As the HR Assistant you will have great exposure to the full HR function and working within an experienced team.

The role

The successful candidate will be based on the Craigavon site supporting the HR Function and reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will play a vital role in supporting the HR team to deliver a professional HR Service across the NI & ROI. As the HR assistant you will be working in a full generalist capacity however, you will not be participating in recruitment as the talent acquisition team look after this.

Key Duties

  • Provide HR support across numerous key HR areas
  • Support Disciplinary investigations & meetings up to Verbal warning stage
  • Support with departmental projects and take the lead in adapting/improving the role/department practices
  • Process starters/leavers, coordinating on-boarding new staff and off-boarding leavers globally
  • Deliver HR training to Line Managers
  • Accurately produce, and distribute HR related letters and documents
  • Ensure internal HR systems are accurate and up to date
  • Assist with Absence review meetings and issuing minutes from meetings
  • Assist with interviews when required
  • Any other duties as required

The successful candidate

The successful candidate will be a recent HR /Business Management graduate with a strong HR placement year or someone CIPD qualified who has 1+ years of experience.

  • Degree qualified
  • CIPD qualified or working towards
  • Previous experience in HR
  • Previous experience in handling confidential information
  • Employee relations experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
