MCS Group is delighted to be exclusively working with a expanding engineering company based in the Antrim area, who wish to recruit a HR Manager on a permanent basis.

The successful HR Manager will enjoy working in an expanding, progressive engineering environment, with full ownership for the HR function.

The role

Reporting to the MD, the successful HR Manager will be commercially minded, interacting on a regular basis with various key internal stakeholders, ensuring the HR service they provide genuinely adds value to the business. The role is a stand alone position and incredibly hands on, covering HR everything from administration through to more strategic HR initiatives.

The successful HR Manager will be responsible for talent management, acting as a true business partner to the senior management team. You will provide advice and guidance across a range of HR responsibilities, including performance management, compliance,employee relations, representing the company during audits, absence management, recruitment and disciplinaries.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy.
  • Apply HR and business knowledge evidencing appropriate decision making skills.
  • Advise managers on the terms and conditions of employment and knowledge share best practice with them.
  • Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes.
  • Implement learning and development policy.
  • Provide advice on recruitment and selection strategies.
  • Carry out new starter inductions.
  • Drive alignment between HR strategy and business goals.
  • Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary.
  • Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation.
  • Support change management processes.

The successful candidate

  • Bachelor's degree or CIPD qualification
  • 5 + years' experience in Human Resources
  • Attention to detail and good judgement
  • Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies
  • Demonstrated expertise training managers and employees
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and communications skills
  • Attention to detail and good judgement
