Tech Talent Tuesday - Elvie

Lucy Mullan Aug 24, 2021

Tania Boler is CEO and founder of Elvie, an award-winning British Femtech start-up

Elvie was launched in 2013, and the company develops innovative products that have improved women’s lives providing solutions to issues that have been overlooked for years. Their products include a multi-award-winning Kegel trainer and the worlds first silent breast pump.

Prior to launching Elvie, Tania worked for the UN and with various charities across the world on projects covering everything from HIV prevention to sexuality.

She explains the inspiration behind Elvie saying:

“It wasn’t until I became pregnant myself that I realised there were so many women's health issues that are often just swept under the rug and completely neglected by technology. I never planned to start a tech company, but I realised there was a massive need for innovative and empathic technology to support women, and so I founded Elvie”

The Femtech industry is expected to become a $50 billion market by 2025 and Elvie are capitalising on this growth. Despite the pandemic, Elvie has expanded rapidly- it grew a whopping six times in 2019 and doubled in 2020, and with the way things are going it looks set to double again in 2021!

They have expanded into ten new markets across the EU and Asia in the last 12 months, with sales continuing to soar in the US and just last week they secured £58 million in funding- there seems to be no stopping this female-founded company!

Elvie is on a mission to be “the go-to destination for women’s health across every life stage” and with Tania and her expert Board, there’s no doubt this is within reach!
