MCS Group are excited to be working with a leading financial investments firm who are searching for a Senior Compliance Officer for their Belfast based team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional to take their career to the next level. The successful candidate should already be in a senior role with varied experience throughout the financial services market.

My client puts a clear emphasis on progression and training along with the opportunity to closely get involved with decision making.

The Role

To support the UK compliance team including identifying, measuring, and assessing risks as well as taking ownership for managing and mitigating different risks. You will act as a senior subject matter expert, working closely with the local MD and leadership team, providing technical support to the business.

Other Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the compliance monitoring programme
  • Ensure the company's compliance with relevant laws, regulations and adherence to the companies' policies and procedures.
  • Consider and deal with the impact on policies and procedures of any relevant new and/or amended regulations, laws, orders, codes or guidelines.
  • Play an active role in the review, development and maintenance of the Company's policies, procedures, and compliance manuals.
  • Assist with and sign off KYC/due diligence reviews and new business risk assessments.
  • Attend internal committee/Board meetings and produce management information for the Group and local Boards on both a monthly and a quarterly basis.
  • Liaise with the FCA as required directly
  • Ensure knowledge of compliance (to include AML, regulations, and corporate governance) is up to date across the Belfast office teams.

The Person

  • Relevant experience in a similar senior role.
  • Experience within funds administration and knowledge of the regulatory environment
  • Hold a relevant Compliance qualification (ie ICA Diploma or ICSA Diploma) would be deemed advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of FCA regulations and processes.
  • A competent user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
