Client, Candidate and Visitor Guidance

Due to the recent increased focus on Coronavirus, we would like to take the opportunity to set out the MCS Group’s position on the various issues that may arise.

The situation with regards to Coronavirus has been developing quickly, with the risk to the UK having been raised to high. We have been keeping the situation under review, and have updated our guidance below to reflect new information provided by the Government and Public Health Agency, and the steps that we are taking to minimise risk to our valued clients, candidates, visitors and team.

From what we know about other coronaviruses, spread of COVID-19 is most likely to happen when there is close contact (within 2 metres or less) with an infected person. It is likely that the risk increases the longer someone has close contact with an infected person.

Respiratory secretions produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes containing the virus are most likely to be the main means of transmission.

There are 2 main routes by which people can spread COVID-19:

  • infection can be spread to people who are nearby (within 2 metres) or possibly could be inhaled into the lungs
  • it is also possible that someone may become infected by touching a surface, object or the hand of an infected person that has been contaminated with respiratory secretions and then touching their own mouth, nose, or eyes (such as touching door knob or shaking hands then touching own face)

There is currently little evidence that people who are without symptoms are infectious to others.

The following measures are in place from 18 March 2020 and will be kept under review.

At this time, we are advocating remote meetings, including interviews, rather than in-person. This option will be offered to you by your contact in our MCS Group team. MCS Group uses secure, effective online platforms to facilitate this and is making this technology available to clients to help minimise disruption.

Following recent official advice, which recommends avoidance of unnecessary social contact, MCS Group will not be facilitating in-person meetings or events at this time.

Should you have any questions about this guidance, please speak with us. We appreciate this is a fast-moving situation and are reviewing the situation, and official guidance from the Department of Health, on an ongoing basis.
