Job: Quantitative Developer - Financial Markets, London
MCS is delighted to be partnered with a dynamic organisation at the forefront of quantitative data analytics, who are seeking a Quantitative Developer to join their team, located in London, close to Liverpool Street Station.
Overview: Our client, a leading provider of derived data solutions, specialises in macro analysis of security classes and portfolios for the world's largest hedge funds, with a client roster of their own, that includes industry giants.This business is known for its agility and commitment to excellence. Unlike their competitors, they offer a personalized approach, providing clients with unparalleled access to expertise.
Role Responsibilities: As a Quantitative Developer, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the infrastructure and driving efficiency across various systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding and optimizing system architecture for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Integrating APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange and inter-operability with clients.
- Monitoring system capacity and scaling infrastructure as needed to maintain reliability.
- Analyzing datasets, generating reports, and extracting insights to inform decision-making.
- Leveraging VBA skills to automate tasks and manipulate data within Excel.

Candidate Profile: We're seeking dynamic individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset, who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should possess:
- Educational background in Mathematics, Science, or Engineering, with a genuine understanding of finance.
- At least 8 years of experience.
- Experience in equity factor risk modelling
- DevOps experience helping frontend engineers with cloud solutions and backend infrastructure
- Proficiency in Python, VBA, and data science skills, with an understanding of cloud and backend infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Previous experience within asset management/banking is preferred
Salary/Package:
- Up to 100k base d.o.e
- Hybrid working, minimum 3 days in the office
- Stock/Equity within the company
