Junior QA engineer

MCS Group is delighted to be exclusively partnered with a local software house in Belfast to recruit for a junior QA Engineer to join their team on a hybrid working basis.

Our client is a local success story who offer a Saas service for clients across insurance and financial sectors. Due to continued growth, they have an opportunity for a junior QA engineer to join their team.

Rporting to the senior QA engineer, you will join an established team where you will get support and mentorship as you gain exposure to functional testing an application as well as web services. There will be an opportunity to gain exposure to automation testing on future projects as well as training and mentorship within this role.

What you will be doing

• Work with teams to scope out requirements, create acceptance criteria and test plans
• Act as a technical lead on projects liaising with client and teams
• Be responsible for testing including functional testing and regression testing.
• Use SQL daily to query databases
• collaborative with development teams to ensure best QA practices

To be successful you need;

• 2+ years experience as a QA engineer (strong experience in manual testing)
• Ability in SQL
• Ideally come from a background within financial sectors, insurance or web testing
• High desirable you will have experience in api testing and tools such as postman
• Hybrid working role in Belfast - ability to attend office 3 days per week
