Mechanical Design Engineer

Your day to day:

• Responsible for the specification, selection and integration of components and systems into new and existing designs.
• Develop and design product options in line with customer specifications.
• Produce engineering detail drawings which can be issued to manufacturing and suppliers.
• Co-ordinate with the assembly and manufacturing teams to ensure that the design is clearly defined and controlled.
• Provide system technical information and documentation for both internal and external customers.
• Provide Technical assistance to production, support engineers and the customer.
• Produce system layout drawings.
• Create Bills of Material, specifications and detailed designs.
• Produce and manage component and systems specifications.
• Support prototype build, validation and product sign off.

You will have:

• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a number of years of Design/New product development Engineering experience, ideally in heavy engineering or automotive.
• Experience with 3D & 2D CAD and engineering report writing.
