Job Description

MCS Group are delighted to be working with a successful firm in Belfast who are seeking to recruit a Compliance Manager.

In Summary:

In the midst of a period of growth in revenues and staff post Covid, the company requires a Compliance Manager to help contribute to the ongoing growth and to help to manage the various risks associated with operating a Fintech covering, remote gaming, FX, Crypto, with a particular focus on protecting consumers. This represents an ideal time to join, since the company is enjoying significant growth.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory returns.
  • Owning and fixing compliance issues as and when detected.
  • Key event reporting and liaising with third parties to identify route cause and solution.
  • Dealing with ad hoc complaints escalations as and when required.
  • Managing MLRO activities with SAR submissions.
  • Chairing the Monthly Compliance Governance meetings.
  • Assisting with compliance training for all staff.
  • Providing compliance reports to senior management.
  • Contributing to Board of Management Quarterly Board meeting.
  • Assisting with general admin for the CEO of Compliance and wider Legal and Compliance team.
  • Notifying regulator of any material changes, license variations and application.
  • Assisting teams within the business as and when required which will help to expand your business and product knowledge.
  • Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for the company's operations under the FCA.
  • Company's policy maker and take charge of the AML policies and procedures to adhere to the regulatory requirements and update management and other departments.
  • Maintain knowledge of all AML regulations and potential changes affecting the Company.
  • Ensure that all AML/CFT documentation is constantly kept updated and reflective of compliance requirements and regulatory expectations.
  • Ensure that the company adheres to all record-keeping obligations from an AML/CFT perspective at all times.
  • Execute Business Risk Assessments with respect to the relevant operations of the company on a periodic basis.
  • Take necessary action deriving from changes in national risk assessments, high-risk countries and/or sanction lists issued and updated by various authorities and/or regulatory bodies in the respective jurisdictions.
  • Set out the relevant framework for the purposes of conducting Customer Risk Assessments.
  • Propose risk mitigating measures to be applied for the purposes of addressing AML/CFT risks to which the company is exposed.
  • Act as the escalation point for internal reports raised by employees of the Company.
  • Submit reports to the NCA under objective and subjective criteria and analyse and respond to information or other requests from the relevant enforcement authorities and/or regulatory bodies.
  • Act as point of contact for the investigation unit in relation to investigating and assessing complex cases, Enhanced Due Diligence and/or relevant KYC documentation.
  • Assist in any internal/independent/regulatory audit covering matters related to AML/CFT.
  • Provide regular reports and/or updates to senior management as necessary and required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Compliance Manager or similar level experience, preferably in the payments industry.
  • Candidate must be previously registered and approved by the FCA.
  • Ideally have proven and successful hands-on experience with multi-jurisdictional customers.
  • Must have a "can do," hands-on attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Must be confident in their ability and knowledge when communication with senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Must be able to own and deliver projects with clear communications skills and adept and managing expectations.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Be well-versed with MS Office (including Power Point and Excel).
